Thanx for your profound review! There is just one error: Dion actually did cover Jimi Hendrix later on: He played "Purple Haze" on his self-titled album from 1968.

Definitely not a quality pressing, thin vinyl with some little dents and dings. My copy looks glossy, but still crackles. Still the songs are rare classics of bad taste and it´s good to have them, anyway!

The quality of this "no name" release is impressing. Silver glossy heavy cardboard cover, 180 g vinyl, perefctly mastered recordings and no background noises. Maybe not interesting for collectors but for listeners just gorgeous!

This one is some terrible right winged propaganda in musical camouflage.

Vinyl is beautiful, pressing sounds good, the music is raging garage-madness combined with latin grooves and a feeling of 90ies-dub from Japan. Unique and terribly underrated.

Definetely one of the best releases of electronic music in the late 90ies. Eclectic, vibrating, diversified, psychedelic, uncategorizable. Wow!

Hi, it is the closet mix. Valentine centered the drums, Reed separated drums and guitars on left and right channel.

My copy sounds fantastic. No surface noises. Great dynamic range.

Absolutely underrated singer/songwriter project. They deserve far more attention. Some of the compositions could be original material of Dylan, Young or Waits, others sound like unheard old time tracks.

The Clockwork Wizards were probably the most energetic live band on the german garage scene in the 80ies. The LP is not produced as rough as their live performance, but still a really nice piece of music. Some remarkable compositions on it, some... See full review

Fantastic goth-pop with a taste of psychedelia. Absolutely underrated enchanting songwriting. Unbelievable that they seem to be nearly unkown.

Wonderful record with Luk Thung influenced Molam-Songs. Hongthong is a fantastic interpreter with a powerful yet filigrane voice. There are just two tracks sagging a little for they somehow sound like slow jazzy easy listening tunes.

Fantastic compilation of The Son of P.M., even better than "Shadowmusic of Thailand"! A real essential LP for everyone interested in exotic and psychedelic stuff from the 60ies!
posted a review of Various - Amazing Sounds Of Thailand. over 5 years ago
The first half of this compilation consists of cheesy and gruesome 70ies easy-listening songs. The seconds half contains much more interesting luk thung and thai-beat from the 60ies. Not an essential record, if you are interested in thai-music, but a... See full review

Includes the outstanding cumbia "Negra Soy". The other songs consist mainly of tango, corrida, ranchero, porro and other latin styles. All takes seem to be recorded in the sixties and early seventies, so don´t be misled by the camp eighties cover with... See full review
