Notes

Very first pressings, including white label promo copies were pressed without the band's name on both labels. Also shares the exact same matrix etchings as promo copies. This was corrected on later pressings. A misprint copy also exists with incorrect track listings printed on both labels.

Includes either the orange Elektra company sleeve or the black one with pictures of the new east coast company headquarters.
Elektra Records 1855 Broadway New York City 10023 is printed on both inner sleeves.

Mastering done by Lee Hulko "LH" in dead-wax. Mastering House: Sterling Sound "SS" in dead-wax.

Printed in U.S.A.

I just bought a copy that has the code R1 74051 on it. The markings show that it's the '2010' 180g. But that one came with a hype sticker. Also mine has a barcode that I can't find on here. It's 0812227979430. Anyone have any clue what this one could be? Is it just a variant on the 2010 perhaps?

I have the VMP pressing and think it's phenomenal. I would like to find a decent copy of the original mix to compare it with, but kind of overwhelmed with all the different reissues. Anyone have a breakdown of what's what as far as the different mixes on all these reissues? Not interested in dropping hundreds for a first press just to compare, but curious if there might be other versions that are more reasonably priced that have the original mix and are decent pressing worthy of owning.

Vinyl Me Please just announced the Cale mixes as one of their albums of the month. Unfortunately you have to commit to a three month subscription ($81) to get it. I guess I'll take my chances here.

i have one copy with the first press matrix ...A CP-1 SS41 with no extra etchings but with 'ths stooges' on the label, i think it's equal with the one without the band name on label, also with the inner sleeve (tan E or black), it's factory work could be swaped, the matrix is important, IMO!

Comment to question of the 1970 version of The Stooges being the 1st. No that wouldn't be the 1st, as that came out in 1969.

Does anybody know anything about this record with The Smiths on the b-side? I bought it new in the middle of the 80`s.
