So I have bought every vinyl Evan has released since he fully got back into his music and label again, and while I still think Holotrope is the best *new* release he has put out on vinyl to this point (aurally and visually), I think this remaster of S&S is the best of his ongoing 15th Anniversary releases.

I have to admit I was a little confused with the visual presentation this time around. S&S has always been my favorite Bluetech release and that bright blue cover always caught my eye, and was seared in my brain for a long time... so to see this very muted, understated yet complex geometric kind of design was a little strange at first. But after a few spins on the Teac with my Nagaoka cart... mmm mmm mmm, yes ma'am I'll take another serving of that please. It's such a strange marriage between the Designers Republic kinda visual style (kind of) and the super chill musical content, but it works, and it will probably go down as one of the more cherished vinyls I own. I have a feeling Evan might feel the same way himself.

Last thing... y'all know what's next on the 15 year remaster schedule, right? Yep, Phoenix Rising... mmm mmm mmm.

This newly re-mastered 15th anniversary ed. is so much better sounding that the original CD version. The newer version here on vinyl, is all re-mastered on 100% analog gear, and it's very audible. What a great album this is, and what a thrilling package. Highly recommended if your into electronic down tempo/ambient instrumental music.
