This was the theory for years, finally and irrefutably confirmed with the release of "Fergus'" fourth album, "Call It Home", on CD in 2009. Released by Kilmarnock via CDBaby, the back cover shows photos of Angus and Fergus MacRoy, the fraternal Nova Scotian songwriter/performer duo who are mythologized in the liner notes of each MacRoy album. The photo for Fergus is very clearly Galt MacDermot, and the photo of Angus appears to be his brother. The album's mostly unreleased vintage material and is pretty great! I'll make a few submissions and edits to this page in the hopes of making it a more complete discography for Fergus releases -- as well as linking it with Galt (though, to be honest, I like the playful mystery of it all!).

It's my understanding that Fergus MacRoy is the same person as Galt MacDermot, and that any tracks with Galt providing vocals are credited to the Fergus alias. However, I can't find any info online to confirm this.
