KMD

Profile:
KMD = Kausin' Much Damage / Kause in a Much Damaged Society

KMD consisted of brothers Zev Love X (Daniel Dumile Thompson) and DJ Subroc (Dingilizwe Dumile) along with Onyx The Birthstone Kid (Alonzo Hodge). They released the album Mr. Hood in 1991 on Elektra. The group was then self-described in Elektra press as: "Malcolm X's meeting a drum machine on Sesame Street."

Disagreements with Elektra led to the label dropping the group in 1994, before the release of their second album Black Bastards. Just prior to Black Bastards' release, Subroc was tragically killed in a car accident, and Zev Love X, understandably disillusioned, took some time out from the record industry. He resurfaced under the metal mask of MF Doom in the late 1990s, on b-boy philanthropist Bobbito Garcia's Fondle 'Em label.

Not sure why Alonzo Hodge is crossed out, while (with great respect) the late Dingilizwe Dumile remains assigned; neither artist should be removed. If going by current status, the group dismembered in the mid 1990's & all artists would be crossed out. If I remember correctly, Hodge was not involved in 'Bl_ck B_st_rds', but still, seems disrespectful to have a line through your name after being present for a cornerstone LP like 'Mr. Hood', not to mention 'Bl_ck B_st_rds' being shelved by Electra & remaining (to it's favour) a 'ghost' LP if you will. If the group were still live, than this might make sense, as it is, all should be fully credited.
